Craftmad stall

Well I've got myself organised enough to get enough sewing together to have a wee stall at the market. I never seem to have enough time to do everything and now I'm looking for a part-time job. Silly girl!!!

Here are a few photo of items I've made for the market and of the stall and of a new dress for my little girl.

Well today I've finally got around to posting photos of my sewing. Only took how many months????
The first photo is of some cute cord shoes for my little girl. The next is a blanket I made my Mother-in-law with some of the scraps of fabric she saved from her sewing her clothes. My mum cut and pieced the top and I backed it with fleece and finished it off. It's certainly not my cup of tea but seeing the fabrics were all her choices she loved it!
The mauve blanket is something I made a friend who feels the cold. I make a two sided blanket as it soo much warmer and I put all these Yo-yo's on it as she was going into hospital for a short stay and I thought she might appreciate the colours in the bland environment! These blankets are easily washed.
The last two photos are of a little flower bag I made from a book I can remember right now but have listed it previously. These are so easy to make and look great.

Books

The last books I am in love with currently are the Japanese books from http://www.quiltbooks.co.nz/
I bought Joyful time and it's got great diagrams with dimensions and lots of photos. Certianly not for a beginner but great for someone who can work out what they mean and improvise.
They certianly use muted colours in a much different way to us it has really inspired me!

Welcome

Hi, I'm new to sewing and am learning and collecting patterns and fabric. I am finding it hard to find funky fabrics for my collection in NZ. I hope to up load some of my recently completed projects shortly but just fell into this because I was looking at other bloggers entries.
